Job Summary:
The WTG Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of wind turbine generators (WTGs), ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role involves performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within the turbines. The WTG Technician will conduct routine inspections, diagnose faults, and execute repairs using specialized tools and equipment. Coordination with other technical personnel and adherence to strict safety protocols. The WTG Technician also monitors turbine operations via SCADA systems, analyzes performance data, and responds to emergencies to maintain safe and efficient wind energy production.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance (preventive) and troubleshoot issues (corrective).
- Handle mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in turbines.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of wind turbine components, such as gearboxes, generators, and hydraulic systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Replace worn or damaged parts as needed.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to perform repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Coordinate with other technicians and engineers to resolve technical challenges.
- Monitor the operations of the WTG through the SCADA and report for any unusual operating conditions to the Maintenance provider (if applicable).

- Adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments.
- Participate in safety training programs to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
- Monitor wind turbine performance data to identify potential issues and optimize operations.
- Analyze fault codes and error messages to troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Review related manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to determine the tasks, tools, equipment and parts to maintain highly automated systems.
Respond to emergencies such as component failures and recommend solutions.

Education Requirement: College Diploma or higher
Preferably Bachelor’s Degree (Electrical or Mechanical) or any related field
Technical Knowledge, Special Trainings and Work Experience:
NC2, REE, RME, or any related certification such as GWO. At least TWO (2) years’ experience in the same capacity
