ACEN employees came together on July 24 for Green Grid Day, a company-wide environmental volunteering activity that capped Unlocked: The ACEN Experience Week, the launch of ACEN’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
 

Held at La Mesa Ecopark, the activity brought employees beyond the workplace to turn shared values into collective action for the environment. In a first for ACEN, the company responded to Ayala Foundation’s call for institutional volunteerism, with employees contributing more than 1,000 volunteer hours to plant 1,000 native Narra trees and support the restoration of one of Metro Manila’s key natural areas.
 

Beyond tree planting, employees gained a deeper understanding of forest conservation and the role of watersheds in protecting biodiversity, preventing soil erosion, and addressing climate change. As the trees mature, they are projected to sequester approximately 30 tons of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to the estimated annual emissions of around 20 Filipinos or the electricity-related emissions of about five homes.
 

Green Grid Day brought Unlocked: The ACEN Experience Week to a meaningful close, complementing a series of learning sessions, employee engagements, and purpose-led activities designed to help employees experience the promise behind ACEN’s new EVP.
 

With 1,000 trees planted and employees coming together in service of a shared purpose, Green Grid Day showed how ACEN’s EVP can come to life through collective action, strengthening employee connections while contributing to environmental stewardship and climate action.
